Cosmetic Dentistry

If you are one of the millions of Americans who are unhappy with the way their teeth look when they smile and talk, cosmetic dentistry is the answer for you.  With today’s technology, there is a myriad of ways to let you enjoy the smile you have always wanted.

Tooth whitening (bleaching) lightens teeth that have been stained or discolored by food and age, or darkened as a result of injury. There are two basic ways to professionally bleach teeth. We can apply a bleaching solution to one or more of your teeth per visit, in a single office visit, you can be fitted with a custom-made bleaching tray that you wear for a short 15-20 minute sessions at home, or we can do a combination of the two techniques.

Composite bonding involves applying a tooth-colored plastic putty called composite resin to the surface of your chipped, broken or discolored teeth. The composite resin can also fill in gaps between your teeth and protect roots that are exposed due to gum recession. The entire procedure is virtually painless and is usually completed in one visit. However, complex cases may require several appointments.

Porcelain veneers give the ultimate in dental esthetics.  They are thin, custom-made, shells of porcelain that can be made to cover the front of your teeth. Once applied, they can correct or camouflage misaligned, poorly shaped, damaged, or discolored teeth.

Recent advances in orthodontic treatment, such as less visible and more effective brackets and wires, as well as clear aligners now make straightening crooked teeth a great option for adults.  Combining orthodontic alignment of the teeth with veneering to improve the shape and color of the teeth can often do seeming miracles for your smile.
